Rachel Cain

Description

From a very early age Rachel demonstrated a passion for singing, making her first “public appearance” when she was aged just 5 years on a stage at a Christmas party. While still at school she took her singing more seriously and began performing in a children’s cabaret show touring various pubs, clubs and holiday parks throughout the North West of England. The highlight of these years was a solo performance at the famous Liverpool Empire Theatre.

The experience and confidence gained from this propelled her toward a solo career. Her apprenticeship was gained on the tough pub / club circuit and involved singing for all age groups with a repertoire that ranged from 50’s through to contemporary. However, her first love has always been Country Music.

Rachel has expanded her talent to musical productions. In 2003 she appeared in the North West premier of “The Scarlet Pimpernel”. In 2004 she went on to perform the female lead role (Kathy Seldon) in the stage production of “Singin in the Rain” at the Albert Halls in Bolton, UK. Later on in 2004 she appeared in “Jesus Christ Superstar” at the Charter Theatre in Preston, UK. These shows involved working alongside a West End orchestra.

Rachel’s talents did not go unnoticed locally, as she was delighted to accept an invitation to perform along with Tony Cain in a project to support Liverpool’s successful bid to become European Capital of Culture 2008. This project, “Musical History Tour”, was a 2 week tour of schools singing various hits from the past and present recorded by artists from Liverpool including, The Beatles, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Billy Fury and Cilla Black.

Rachel has since appeared at various country music festivals performing alongside major recording stars. She has also gained experience in TV and film appearing in the first series of the show “Lillies” which became very successful for the BBC and she also attended work on the set of the period series of “Casualty” and “Bonkers” which featured Lisa Tarbuck. Rachel can also be seen in a recently nationally released film called “Don’t Worry About Me”, directed by David Morrison.

In the summer of 2007 Rachel made her first trip to Nashville, USA and took part in “The Nashville Star Search”, a competition which was for singers of all different genres of music. Here she walked away with an award for Best Newcomer and also was awarded first place in the Country Talent section.

Rachel has since dedicated her time to writing and recording her debut album, released on 10th September 2010.
Rachel continues to be dedicated to her career in performing and pushing herself to the limits as a very ambitious performer.
