Ponticello

Description

Playing on ‘Bridge’ electric violin and electric 5 string, they call themselves Ponticello; from the Italian term ‘sul ponticello’ meaning ‘on the bridge’

With 9 strings between them, the girls cross over the range from viola to violin whilst still creating the subtleties of 2 singing violins. Sisters Emily Beth and Penny have played together professionally since 1995 in the Spring Quartet. They have now branched out to create a new style of entertainment, fusing Classical music with a modern beat.

What we do

A new take on some old favourites with the added spice of drums and bass.

From Mozart’s ever popular Rondo Alla Turca, everlasting favourite; Pachelbel’s Canon, and Kachaturian’s haunting Masquerade Waltz to some Gershwin, Gypsy Kings and even some Abba, not to mention Bluegrass fiddle.

An all round great entertainment for corporate functions, civic events and, of course, weddings; the acoustic set may be best for before and during the Ceremony; the drinks reception could be the perfect occasion for some more serene duos or the upbeat electrics, whatever your taste.

Between the end of the meal and start of the evening entertainment, why not bridge the gap with a set of red hot electrics to digest and work off some food?
